PHOENIX, AZ – Today, Brady PAC announced their support for former Phoenix Vice Mayor and City Councilwoman Yassamin Ansari in the race for Arizona’s Third Congressional District.

Brady PAC Executive Director Ashley Lantz issued the following statement:

“Gun safety is a top priority for young people and families who are tired of looking out of the corner of their eye wondering if they’re safe. Yassamin Ansari wants what we all want: a country free from gun violence and in her, Arizonans will have a champion for their families, their safety, and their futures.”

Yassamin Ansari issued the following statement:

“Gun violence is an epidemic in this country. I grew up as part of the Columbine generation, with mass shooting drills at school and in college. I’ll never stop advocating for common sense gun safety reform, which is why I am so proud to be endorsed by another of our leading gun violence prevention organizations, Brady PAC.”

We won!

It’s hard to put my feelings into words. I’m elated, of course — but more than that, I’m honored, I’m inspired, and I’m deeply grateful.

This historic victory belongs to all of us. It belongs to everyone in our Phoenix and Glendale community who believed in a progressive future and went to work for it.

This victory is the product of more than 165,000 doors knocked in the pouring rain and the blistering heat. It’s the result of over 25,000 phone calls, and nearly $2 million contributed by folks from every walk of life.

We won this primary election without a dime of corporate PAC money. We ran a campaign on progressive policies and real results. And we’re just getting started.

Now, we turn our attention to November. Turning out the vote here in Maricopa County is on the critical path to victory — and we’ve got our work cut out. Can I count on you to join us in this next chapter?
