PHOENIX, AZ – Today, Reproductive Freedom for All announced their support for former Phoenix Vice Mayor and City Councilwoman Yassamin Ansari in the race for Arizona’s Third Congressional District.

President & CEO for Reproductive Freedom for All Mini Timmaraju issued the following statement:

“The stakes have never been higher—our fundamental freedoms are on the line this November, and Yassamin Ansari is ready to fight for us. We have a real chance to gain the political power needed for reproductive freedom majorities in the House, Senate, and White House. It is critical to secure a national right to abortion and finally end the nightmare of Trump’s deadly abortion bans, and this is how we make it happen. We need to send Yassamin to Congress to help us get there.”

Yassamin Ansari issued the following statement:

“I am dedicated to ensuring that we stop rolling back the clocks on reproductive healthcare, and enshrine it as a fundamental right once and for all. When Roe was overturned, I led the charge to pass an ordinance in Phoenix to make enforcement of Arizona’s archaic abortion ban the lowest priority for law enforcement – because no doctor, nurse or patient should go to jail for providing or receiving healthcare.

I’m so proud to have the endorsement of Reproductive Freedom for All. Everyone deserves the right to make their own decisions over their own bodies, to access the healthcare services that are right for them, and to do so privately and without government interference. As Congresswoman, I will work tirelessly to ensure that all Arizonans can access these services safely, affordably, and privately.”

We won!

It’s hard to put my feelings into words. I’m elated, of course — but more than that, I’m honored, I’m inspired, and I’m deeply grateful.

This historic victory belongs to all of us. It belongs to everyone in our Phoenix and Glendale community who believed in a progressive future and went to work for it.

This victory is the product of more than 165,000 doors knocked in the pouring rain and the blistering heat. It’s the result of over 25,000 phone calls, and nearly $2 million contributed by folks from every walk of life.

We won this primary election without a dime of corporate PAC money. We ran a campaign on progressive policies and real results. And we’re just getting started.

Now, we turn our attention to November. Turning out the vote here in Maricopa County is on the critical path to victory — and we’ve got our work cut out. Can I count on you to join us in this next chapter?
